What shall we do if we have a slow heart rate?
Slow heart rate, also called bradycardia. Our heart normally beats 60 to 100 times a minute, so it is about 100,000 times each day.
How to treat a slow heart rate depends on the cause. If it’s a serious dysfunction of your heart, you should get a pacemaker.
If your slow heart rate is caused by your blood pressure medication, your doctor should consider changing the drug. However, if you must have that specific medication, you may need a pacemaker as well.
Fortunately, bradycardia is generally not serious. As long as you get any treatment you need, you should still be able to do all of the activities you love to do.
