  • Drink plenty of fluids.

  • Take antibiotics to treat a bacterial complication.

Hospital care

  • Humidified oxygen.
  • Intravenous (IV) fluids.
  • Mechanical ventilation (breathing machine).
  • Use ribavirin (Virazole). (only for people with very weakened immune systems)
