What is the difference between liposarcoma and lipoma?

There are many differences between liposarcoma and lipoma.
Lipoma is a benign tumor. Benign tumors grow slower than malignant tumors and will not metastasize or will hardly metastasize. Lipoma mainly occurs under the skin and the limbs. As long as there is fat, it is easy to grow lipoma. It is difficult to distinguish the lipoma from the normal tissue, and the texture of the lipoma is soft.
Liposarcoma is a malignant soft tissue sarcoma. Liposarcoma can be easily separated from normal tissue, and it grows very fast. Liposarcoma often occurs around the age of 50. Most of liposarcoma occurs in the thighs and buttocks.
If liposarcoma cannot be distinguished from lipoma through the above characteristics, B-ultrasound and MRI can be used to determine whether the patient gets liposarcoma or lipoma.
