Stromal fibrosis is a pathological term used to describe a usually benign change in the breast tissue. But a confirmed diagnosis is required before ruling out malignancy.

Basic pathological lesions of stromal fibrosis include diffuse pulmonary parenchyma, alveolitis, and pulmonary interstitial fibrosis. Specifically, pulmonary interstitial fibrosis is an inflammatory disease of the interstitial lung resulted from a variety of causes.

Clinical manifestations of stromal fibrosis are as follows:

  • progressive dyspnea,
  • diffuse infiltration of X-ray films,
  • restrictive ventilatory disorders,
  • decreased diffuse function, and hypoxia are.

So far, the medical community hasn’t got a completely consistent understanding of classification, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment of stromal fibrosis.
