What is relapsed multiple myeloma?

A:
Patients with relapsed multiple myeloma fall into 3 categories:

  • Patients with ‘relapsed’ disease. Their first progression occurs when any therapy following successful initial therapy stops.
  • Patients with relapsed and refractory disease. Their progression occurs on a specific therapy or within 60 days of a given therapy.
