What is Anterolisthesis?

Q:
what is anterolisthesis?

A:
A forward slippage of the upper vertebral body in relation to the vertebra below can be defined as anterolisthesis. Anterolisthesis is mostly detected in
the fourth and fifth lumbar vertebrae, but it can occur in everywhere of the spine.

Anterolisthesis can be graded according to the percentage of slippage of the vertebral body. There are five different grades, ranging from grade I to grade V. Doctors can not diagnose with only physical exams, so imaging tests are needed to determine the grade of anterolisthesis, Plain radiograph, Magnetic resonance imaging and CT scan and PET scan.

If you have anterolisthesis, you may easily feel pain on the site of slippage. Remember to make an appointment with doctors if you feel the pain on your body.
