What Causes Vein Pulsing in Arm?

Q:
What causes vein pulsing in arm?

A:
Sometimes we may notice the skin rise and fall in the arm. In fact, the visual pulsation occurs in arteries rather than in veins.

A vein can produce this sensation due to the increased blood flow to some area because of physical activities. This may occur after jogging in the morning or bodybuilding or any other physical activity. Typically, the bulging can disappear when the arm is raised over the level of the heart.

If the visible pulsing appears with an unusual rapid heartbeat, pain or other cardiac symptoms, please see a doctor.
