What are the symptoms of Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease?
Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease is a very rare disease. It is more common among Japanese or other Asian people. It is also called the histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis because it affects the lymph nodes. The causes of this disease have not been defined. The general symptoms may include:
- mild fever
- skin rashes
- enlargement in the lymph nodes
Less common symptoms include joint pains, nausea and vomiting. The symptoms of Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease resemble those of the following diseases:
- Burkitt’s lymphoma
- Hodgkin’s disease
- Malignant lymphoma
