What are the survival rates of different types of lymphomas?
Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer with high incidence and relatively good survival rates. However, the survival rates are different for different types of lymphomas and those at different stages. Take the United States for an example, the survival rates of Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma are 85% and 69% respectively. Worldwide, in 2012, 305,000 deaths were caused within 566,000 cases, accounting for 54% among all cases.
As for five-year survival rates based on the stage at diagnosis, the survival rates of localized, regional, distant and unknown lymphomas are 82.3%, 78.3%, 62.7% and 68.6% respectively.
