Causes
Coup, a respiratory infection that appears on the nose and throat, is caused by viruses.
Whooping cough, also called pertussis, is caused by bacterium.
RSV, standing for respiratory syncytial virus, is caused by viral infection of the respiratory tract.
Symptoms
Coup:
- Runny nose
- Fever
- Difficulty breathing
Whooping cough:
- Apnea
- Rapid cough
- Low-grade fever
RSV:
- Wheezing
- Sneezing
- Severe cough
- Decrease in appetite
