What are the causes of cystic fibrosis?
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease. It affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat and digestive juices. Cystic fibrosis causes the secretions to become thick and sticky. Then the secretions may block tubes, ducts and passageways throughout the body, especially in the lungs and pancreas.
