What are common skin rashes?
There are many types of rashes, including eczema, lichen planus, granuloma annulare, and pityriasis rosea. You’ll learn about them after reading the article.
Here are the types:
- Eczema. It describes conditions where the skin is itchy, red and inflamed. Atopic dermatitis is one of the most common forms of eczema. It’s not contagious.
- Lichen planus. This disorder causes shiny, flat-topped bumps that have a reddish-purplish color. It’s often found on the insides of the ankles and wrists, the back, and the lower legs.
- Granuloma annulare. Patients have circular-shaped rash with reddish bumps. Granuloma annulare often affects young people.
- Pityriasis rosea. This starts with a large, pink patch of skin on the back or chest. Then, more pink patches of skin can be found. Pityriasis rosea is usually a mild type of rash.
