Any foods for people with low blood sugar?
Low blood sugar, or we may call it hypoglycemia, is a condition when sugar levels in the blood drop to below 70 milligrams per deciliter. The condition can cause weakness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, shakiness.
Besides the normal medical measures, you can also improve the condition through eating certain foods. My suggestions for foods are as follows:
Whole grains provide carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins and minerals. Carbohydrates in food turn into sugar and raise blood sugars. These foods include whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, brown rice, barley, bulgur, etc.
Dairy provides protein, carbohydrate, vitamins and minerals and also helps control blood sugar. These foods include nonfat milk, nonfat and low-fat yogurt low-fat cheeses, etc.
Fruits Rich in Soluble Fiber
Fruits high in soluble fiber can delay stomach emptying and slow the release of sugar into the bloodstream. These high soluble fiber fruits include oranges, apples, pears, strawberries, etc.
