Natural Home Remedies for Chalazion Cysts

A chalazion cyst is a small lump that appears under the skin of the eyelid due to a blocked oil gland. The most common cause of eyelid cysts is inflammation and blockage of the oil-producing meibomian glands in the eyelids. There are some simple but effective treatments to treat this problem at home.

1. Egg

One of the first natural home remedies for chalazion cysts is eggs. A hot boiled egg can work effectively as a warm compress. It also keeps the heat longer than a warm compress.

Separate the egg yolk from an egg.

Then lay the egg whites on a soft cloth.

Now place it directly on the affected eye and leave it on for about 15 minutes.

You should follow this method regularly 3 times a day.

Alternately, you can take a hard-boiled egg and keep it on the affected area for about 10 to 15 minutes.

2. Onion

Although it may sound strange when it comes to home remedies for chalazion cysts, onions are really effective for this problem. In particular, the juice of onions is best for treating these types of eye cysts. It can help you to reduce the swelling.

First, prepare some raw onions and then extract the juice from them.

Next, apply some juice directly on the chalazion cyst.

You should repeat this method regularly for the best results.

3. Nutmeg

Nutmeg contains many medicinal properties and is commonly used for various therapeutic purposes. Its essential oil is full of strong antibacterial effects, making it one of the best natural home remedies for chalazion cysts. In addition, it has a great sweet aroma.

First, rub the nutmeg on a stone with some clean water to make a paste.

Then apply a layer of this paste on the chalazion cyst.

Let the paste dry in the air.

You should repeat this method regularly for the best results.

Notes: Avoid using the nutmeg in your eyes.

4. Bitter gourd

Bitter gourd is considered as one of the home remedies for chalazion cysts because it contains detoxifying properties that can help you to get rid of the chalazion cysts effectively.

Simply, cut a piece of bitter gourd and place it on the affected area for about 15 minutes.

Another option is to make a bitter gourd tea and then drink it in the morning when you have an empty stomach.

You can add salt to it for the taste.

This remedy will help in cleansing the skin from deep inside.

5. Calendula

Calendula consists of anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects, which make it another great option for treating chalazion cysts and other fungal infections.

Make an infusion of calendula with 1 tablespoon of dried marigold leaves and 250 ml of clean water.

Heat the infusion and then strain the liquid.

Apply the solution on the affected area until it has cooled.

You should repeat this method 3 times a day.

Alternately, you can use this water to wash your eyes to treat conjunctivitis and chalazion cyst.
