Sinusitis often occurs as part of a common cold and is caused by a secretion of congestion in the paranasal sinuses. Pressure and dullness in the head, whitish nasal secretions and localized headache are the typical symptoms.

Home remedy against Sinusitis

You can treat a sinusitis similar to a cold, so that all measures useful in treating a cold are also suitable here.

Basically, you should drink a lot of water, too. All non-alcoholic drinks are suitable, from mineral water to fruit juices to herbal teas.

Head steam baths with herbal additives or with essential oils have an expectorant effect and thus bring relief.

Place a quark top on the cheeks or forehead for 15 minutes and repeat after 2 hours. You can increase the effect by stirring a tablespoon of freshly grated horseradish under the quark.

Place ginger compress on cheeks or forehead and cover with a cloth. Replace the compress as soon as it has cooled down until the skin is slightly red. Repeat the compress for ten consecutive evenings.

Fill a linen bag with normal salt and heat it on the stove. Then lay it on your forehead until it cools. Repeat several times.

Warm potato toppings or linseed compresses relieve pain and promote blood circulation in the mucous membranes.

Sit in front of a red light lamp for 15 minutes twice a day.

Medicinal preparation

Mix eyebright, violet root, wormwood, linseed and anise in equal parts. Pour one tablespoon of this mixture with a cup of boiling water, let stand for ten minutes and strain. Drink a cup several times a day several times in a row.
