Bitter melon is said to be the best vegetable in diabetic diet. Is it true?
Bitter melon’s magic comes in two parts, lowering blood sugar levels and blood triglyceride levels, which has been verified in cells, animal studies and some human studies.
Although the evidence is limited, bitter melon’s effect in diabetes is promising. As shown in study, bitter melon, whose seeds were removed and pulp was dried, (at either 500, 1000 or 2000 mg per day) was effective at lowering blood sugar levels.
