CLL, short for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, is a common type of blood cancer. In all cancer treatments, eating well plays an important role. Eating well means adequate energy and nutrients via various foods which contains vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber.
Healthy eating principles here include:
Never skip breakfast. To start a new day with enough energy, it’s necessary to make your breakfast rich in vitamins and minerals.
Drink more water. 8 glasses of water daily is a normal standard (1.2 litres). Are you getting enough water?
Less salt, suagr or animal fat. You can take 6g of salt a day at most, and stay away from processed foods. Don’t cross the line.
Besides, we also should limit the fat in our diets. Change the saturated fat into unsaturated fat like olive oil, oily fish, avocados, nuts and seeds.
More fruit and vegetables. 5 portions a day is recommended for most people. And the more the better.
Necessary fish intake. Oily fish on a weekly basis is good for your and your family health, providing more protein, vitamins and minerals.
Starchy foods. You can add bread, cereals, rice, pasta and potatoes in your diet. Also, wholegrain is an excellent choice.
