How to define whether an individual is or is not RH positive?

Rh factor lies on the surface of red blood cells. The term only refers to the D antigen of the Rh blood group system, or the Rh− blood group system. Any individual either has it or does not have it. People who are RH positive have the D antigen, while those who are RH negative don’t have the D antigen.

When it comes to inheritance, a child will absolutely be RH negative, if his/her parents are both RH negative. However, if one of them is not RH negative, the child is likely to be RH positive, based on the parents’ specific genotypes.
