Home Remedies for Dry Scalp

Dry scalp will be a real threat if you really care about healthy hair. The dry scalp can cause head lice, dandruff, itchy scalp & finally hair loss. However, this common hair condition can be treated in your own home in case you are not in the seriousness of the stage. Here are some natural home remedies for dry scalp.


1. Tea tree oil

The tea tree oil has strong antibacterial and antifungal properties, which make it a great homemade natural remedy for dry scalp. This natural oil provides excellent hydration and nutrition, which help to combat dryness, itching and scaling, thereby preventing the conditions of dryness of the scalp.

How to apply:

Mix 5 to 10 drops of tea tree oil with the water.

Wash your hair with Shampoo as usual.

Rinse your hair and scalp with the mixture.


2. Lemon juice & honey

Lemon has cleansing properties and honey has antibacterial properties. You can just mix these ingredients together, and then apply to your dry scalp, and you will see an amazing result. However, you must remember that you should not use lemon for broken, irritated skin because they cause the stinging sensation.

How to apply:

Squeeze a lemon and take the juice.

Then mix lemon juice with a lot of honey to maximize its benefits.

Massage the scalp with the mixture for about a few minutes.

Rinse with water.


3. Apple cider vinegar, rosemary oil & peppermint oil.

If you apply apple cider vinegar to the scalp, it can help balance the pH of the scalp and then treat itching & dryness. However, apple cider vinegar should be diluted with water before use.

How to apply:

Combine a handful of rosemary with 3 cups of water in a pot.

Bring this mixture to a boil.

Then lower the heat to a simmer.

Cook this mixture for about 45 minutes.

Strain this mixture in a bowl or a bottle.

Let it cool.

Mix ½ cup of apple cider vinegar with 8 to 10 drops of peppermint oil and 10 drops of rosemary oil.

Put it in a spray bottle.

Apply the mixture after shampooing.

You can let it dry or rinse with water as normal.


4. Sesame oil.

Like tea tree oil, sesame oil can help by nourishing and nourishing the scalp.

How to apply:

Wash your hair with shampoo.

Massage the scalp with this oil for about 10 minutes.


5. Olive oil.

The olive oil is rich in vitamin E & monounsaturated fatty acids, which can help you in combating the dryness of the scalp.

How to apply:

Massage the scalp with extra virgin olive oil.

Leave it for about 30 minutes.

Rinse with water.
