Home Remedies for Dark Spots

Almost every one of us has some kind of dark and black spots on the skin. These patches are extremely difficult to eradicate and medical treatments do not always work effectively as desired. While some people may have less visible and smaller patches, some people have more visible areas and larger-in-size patches on their facial skin. Here are some remedies for dark spots that may help you.

 

1. Onion juice

Onion juice can help improve your dark spots.

How to apply:

Mix 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 tablespoon of onion juice.

Wait for about 20 minutes.

You can also add some vinegar if you are suffering from the oily skin problem for good.

Alternatively, dip a clean cotton swab in fresh onion juice and dab the swab directly on the affected areas and let it dry on its own.

 

2. Papaya

Papaya contains enzymes that can help treat your dark patches effectively. For example, papaya has papain — a powerful enzyme that can help exfoliate the skin, promote the growth of new skin cells.

How to apply:

Prepare some papaya pulp.

Apply the pulp directly to your affected skin area and leave it for about twenty minutes.

Then rinse with clean water.

 

3. Turmeric

Turmeric is a common and well-known skin-lightening ingredient that is commonly used to improve dark spots on the facial skin. It is also very useful for eliminating age spots and sunspots effectively.

How to apply:

Make a thick paste of lemon juice, milk, and turmeric.

Apply this combination to the skin area.

Wait for about 5 minutes.

Then rinse with lukewarm water

 

4. Aloe vera:

Aloe vera provides several powerful healing properties, and it is also an excellent dark spot fighter and corrector.

How to apply:

Prepare aloe vera gel or juice.

Apply it directly to your dark spots.

Use your fingertips to gently massage the affected skin area with about 5 – 10 minutes.

Follow this remedy 1 – 2 times a day for about 2 – 4 weeks.

 

5. Potato

Another effective home remedy that you can use is the use of fresh potatoes.

How to apply:

Prepare grated potatoes and honey.

Mix them well together to make a face mask.

Apply it directly to your facial skin.

Alternatively, you can slice a potato and place a slice of potato directly on the skin area.

Let the potato slice stay for about 5 minutes.

Then rinse with lukewarm water.
