Home Remedies for Dark Elbow

Various factors that contribute to dark elbows include excessive sun, genetic factors, dry skin, frequent rubbing, hormonal imbalance, dead skin, overweight, etc. If this problem bothers you, here are some simple but effective treatments to treat it!

 

1. Coconut oil

Coconut oil is one of the best home remedies for dark elbow. In particular, it contains vitamin E, which helps prevent dryness and lighten the skin shade by keeping the skin hydrated and moisturized.

How to apply:

After each bath or shower, apply some coconut oil on elbows and then massage gently for about 1 to 2 minutes.

You should apply this remedy a few times daily to prevent dryness.

Alternatively, you can mix coconut oil (1 teaspoon) and lemon juice (½ teaspoon).

Rub this mixture on your dark elbows and then leave it for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Rinse with warm water.

It is recommended to follow this remedy once a day.

 

2. Lemon

Lemon contains natural bleaching and peeling properties. In particular, it contains a great amount of vitamin C that helps lighten the skin and remove dead cells. In addition, it can promote the regeneration of healthy skin cells.

How to apply:

Simply apply some lemon juice on the elbows and massage gently for a few minutes.

Leave it for at least 20 minutes.

Finally, rinse with warm water and rub a moisturizing lotion.

Alternatively, extract the juice of a lemon and mix it with honey (1 tablespoon).

Rinse with warm water.

3. Yogurt

As we know, yogurt is very good for skincare. It has lactic acid, which helps lighten the skin. It can also moisturize and clean the skin.

How to apply:

Mix a teaspoon of white vinegar and yogurt to make a smooth paste.

Apply the paste on your elbows and let it dry.

Rinse the paste with warm water, pat dry and then apply a moisturizer.

It is suggested to follow this remedy daily for a few weeks.

 

4. Sugar

Sugar is also considered as a great home remedy for dark elbows. In particular, sugar can help make your skin soften and remove dead skin cells.

How to apply:

Mix sugar and olive oil in equal amounts to make a thick paste.

Apply the paste to your elbows and rub it in a circular motion for about 5 minutes.

Wash off the paste with warm water and soap.

5. Baking powder

Prepare a paste with milk (1 tablespoon) and baking soda ((1 tablespoon).
