GC Test –Positive, Negative

The results of GC test can be either positive or negative.

Positive result represents that you are infected with active gonorrhea and need immediate treatments with antibiotics. And if your result is positive, your sexual partner has higher risk of infection.

Negative result represents that you are not infected with gonorrhea. But other infections are not ruled out. So, it is important to have further test.

Apart from GC test, patients can get self-diagnosis according to the possible symptoms of gonorrhea.

Possible symptoms of gonorrhea in men may include:

  • Burning with urination
  • Discharge from the penis
  • Testicular pain

Possible symptoms of gonorrhea in women may include:

  • Burning with urination
  • Vaginal discharge
  • Vaginal bleeding between periods
  • Pelvic pain
