Does Glucosamine Work for Diabetes?

I just searched new medications online. Someone recommended the glucosamine. Does it really work for diabetes?

Well, the exact effects of glucosamine on blood sugar levels remain unclear.

However, for some patients, if it is injected, their body might become less sensitive to insulin, namely, causing a high blood sugar level.

Since glucosamine is taken orally, most of it is broken down within the stomach and digestive tract, making it impossible to elevate the blood sugar levels.

Anyway, it depends individually. If you want to take a try, consult your doctor in the first place. Some patients taking glucosamine may need to change the dose of other diabetes medications.

By the way, glucosamine is considered generally safe. And it is effective in managing osteoarthritis.
