Does benign hypertension need medical treatments?
Whether benign hypertension needs medical treatments depends on your physical condition.
Hypertension (HTN or HT), also known as high blood pressure (HBP) or arterial hypertension, is a kind of long-term medical condition in which blood pressure in the arteries is continuously elevated.
Benign hypertension means the situation of hypertension is not serious, and it develops in slow pace. And with correct treatments it can be relieved. But that doesn’t mean it needs no medical treatments.
Long term of hypertension may cause other diseases such as stroke, heart disease, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, peripheral vascular disease, dementia and vision loss.
If you have other diseases, the situation of benign hypertension may get worse. So, consult with your doctor for advice if you have benign hypertension.
