Q:
Can you give some information about microscopic colitis?
A:
Microscopic colitis is an inflammation of the colon. The inflammation can lead to watery diarrhea. A microscope is necessary to diagnose the disease because the colon tissue may seem normal.
There are two types of microscopic colitis: collagenous colitis and lymphocytic colitis. Mostly their symptoms and treatments are the same.
If you have chronic watery diarrhea, you need to see a doctor and be treated properly, although sometimes the symptoms can be in recession by itself.
